ABOUT MY ART
My art is largely about movement, vitality, and joy. It’s an abstract dance using bold and delicate strokes, with strong color and texture taking a bow. In contrast, sometimes I’m drawn to make lighter, quieter pieces for introspective times. I’m an intuitive and expressive artist intrigued by the hints of what lies beneath the surface and inspired by the colors and forms in nature.
I make art I’d like to see out in the world. I hope to put reminders of light and beauty out there for those who come in contact with my art, while sharing the excitement and energy that fuels my creative process.
Note: A house and home-studio fire in October of 2020 destroyed the majority of my unsold earlier work. It was a painful time on many levels! Eventually, though, this opened the door to a fresh start in 2022. The joy of being home and in my new studio spills out in my work, and I continue to feel a new freedom as I approach each painting.
